Before you ask

Questions, answered

It depends on the night and the act: the fee is set on each gig listing, and cntd doesn't publish an average. On top of the fee you pay cntd 5%, so a S$500 fee costs you S$525. If the booking is made within 48 hours of the gig, or the gig is marked urgent, you pay 10% instead: S$550. There's no fee during the beta.

Report the no-show on cntd before they've checked in. Your deposit comes back in full, the artist's deposit is yours as money off a future booking on cntd, and the no-show goes on their profile.

Anyone on cntd can apply to your night, not only the acts on a roster. You hear their recordings and live sets, read their rating and reliability, and message them before you decide. Every contract and payment stays on your own spend page.

Artists can mark themselves available last-minute, and you can filter Explore to show only them. A booking made within 48 hours of the gig carries a 10% organiser fee instead of 5%. The artist's fee doesn't change, and it's the same contract and the same deposits.

Some nights do. IMDA says a ticketed music performance needs an Arts Entertainment Licence unless it is exempt, and the licence page on GoBusiness has the details. cntd can't advise on your licence.

Yes. Your regulars apply to your night like anyone else, with their cntd profile, and you pick them the same way.

Yes. Making a profile, posting gigs and applying for them costs nothing. cntd only takes a fee when a gig is booked: the organiser pays 5% on top of the gig fee, and the artist pays 5% out of it. If someone is booked less than 48 hours before the gig, or it's marked urgent, the organiser pays 10% instead; the artist still pays 5%. During the beta there's no fee: everyone we onboard gets a beta code that waives it.

Anyone can post a gig, and anyone can apply for one. When the poster picks someone, cntd writes up the contract and both sides sign it. Each side then puts down a deposit, and after the gig the artist is paid through cntd.

Yes, through Stripe. After you both sign, you each pay a deposit: 20% of the gig price, never more than SGD 200. cntd holds it until the gig is done. After the gig, the organiser pays the rest, the artist is paid into their bank account, and the artist's deposit comes back. Whoever pulls out after paying their deposit loses it to the other side, as credit towards a future booking on cntd.

Post a gig and see who applies, or look through Explore → People, where you can filter by genre and skill, or show only artists available last-minute. Every profile shows the artist's work, their gigs on cntd, their rating and how reliable they've been.
